Current Crop Update
June 20th, 2022
Market Hours Update
Due to heat and severe drought affecting our harvest quantity, our roadside market hours have temporarily changed to 9 AM-4 PM daily, except closed on Wednesdays. We will have peaches available on each day that we are open, however, the best opportunity to get them is usually mid-morning.
Current Peach Varieties
Southern Pearl (white-fleshed, semi-freestone)
Tex Royal (freestone)
June Prince (semi-freestone)
Due to the lack of rain, our peaches are smaller than usual, BUT sweeter!
Cary Mac (freestone)
Fruit size continues be smaller than normal, but sugar content and sweetness greater than normal. Also, we continue to be about two weeks behind the average ripening schedule.
Other Fruits and Vegetables
We now have Mason county watermelons and cantaloupes from Ann and Nick Nobles' farm, local squash and zucchini, limited volumes of local okra and cucumbers and field-grown tomatoes from Hempstead. Local tomatoes should start in the next few weeks.
